Casa Familya

Casa Familya is a newly renovated historical house with a historical marker of Servando Castro placed by NHI and previously owned by an international painter, Lucia Valdez’s paintings are showcased. It’s walking distance to Batac Riverside Empanadahan, Marcos Mausoleum, 7-Eleven, Batac City Hall, banks and groceries, and approximately 5 kilometers from the World Heritage Site Paoay Church, and Paoay Sand dunes.

Brick walls on the ground floor were originally built 140 years ago by the family of Servando Castro, the second Supreme Bishop of the Aglipayan Church and also a delegate to the Convention of the 1935 Constitution hence the historical marker placed by the National Historical Institute (now National Historical Commission of the Phils.). His descendant, Lucia Valdez later in the 1980s renovated and placed a second floor. As an international painter and ambassador couple, she left most of her artworks, paintings, and memorabilia which are now showcased in Casa Familya, just recently renovated for people of Ilocos and tourists alike to enjoy the property.

It’s a walking distance to Batac Riverside Empanadahan, Marcos Mausoleum, 7-Eleven, Batac City Hall, banks and groceries, and approximately 5 kilometers from the World Heritage Site Paoay Church, and Paoay Sand dunes.
